We spent the day with Nick’s cousin who operates a goat farm
with her family just down the street from where Boone’s Farm was (is, although
now his land is vacant). I made a
pot of chanterelle chowder to bring along, and got invited to speak about our
journey and the soup around the table just before dinner. There was quite a variety of people
around the table, and so much good food.
We took home several jars of homemade deliciousness—sauerkraut, tomato
sauce, cheese, and lots of vegetables from their garden. Food is something that brings people
together, and everyone loves to share it.
With all we’ve been gifted, I’m almost certain that Butter weighs more
now that she did when we left.
